Operation Method of Current Transformer

Current Transformer (CT) is a key device for current measurement and equipment protection in power systems. Strict compliance with specifications is required during use to ensure safety and accuracy. Wiring Specification: The primary winding is connected in series with the main circuit, and the secondary winding is connected in series with loads such as ammeters and relays. The secondary side is strictly prohibited from open circuit, otherwise high voltage will be generated to endanger safety, and it must be reliably grounded. Range Matching: Select a CT with rated primary current matching the measured circuit to avoid overload or inaccurate measurement. Wiring Requirements: The wiring shall be firm and free from looseness, and no switches or fuses shall be connected in series in the secondary circuit. Keep the correct polarity during installation to ensure accurate measurement data. Operation & Maintenance: Do not disassemble secondary instruments during operation; short-circuit the secondary side first before operation after shutdown. Regularly inspect insulation and wiring status to eliminate hidden dangers.
